Doctors and nurses do not listen to you, staff is rude, unprofessional, unsympathetic and clearly this is an hospital that put profit above life. I never thought that our medical system would become so broken to this altitude.

Killed my mother at Forbes.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My mother had a colon resection surgery that was done laproscopic and it should not have been because she developed the most common side effect a bowel obstruction. They discharged her after 3 days.

She is 82 years old. She went back the next day when the obstruction started. They discharged her too soon again the obstruction was not cleared and it perforated. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital and they made her wait 2 hours insevere pain.

Necrosis sets in in 30 minutes. My mother died.

Do not trust Dr. Mccormick.

The ER sucks. Sorry but this is probably a billion dollar corporation and they can’t staff the ER adequately enough so people do not have to wait 4 hours to even be seen.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Going on 4 hours in the ER waiting room. PATHETIC.

And when they can me back to call someone, they call the names so quietly you can barely hear them, and they dont even check the bathrooms.

So if you are in the bathroom because youve been waiting 4 hours to be called and cant hear when you are called, you are screwed. They just assume you left.

Allegheny General Hospital - 6 hours and never seen or examined

If I die of a blood clot, make sure my family sues.

With no injury, I found myself unable to stand on or bend my knee. My husband noticed bruising behind the knee - possible blot clot.

Swelling - couldnt straighten my leg and so much pain. The drs message said go to ER.

I was alone due to COVID restrictions.

After 6 hours and three tedious wheelchair attempts to AGH ER triage to see when I would be seen, I was told I wasnt a priority.

Do not go to this hospital or ER. They do not care.

Allegheny General Hospital FLOOR 6 has the absolute WORST PATIENT CARE and they are actually using COVID as an excuse not TO work and to keep families away who really know patients baselines, which can be of great assistance and importance! Nurses on this floor are very rude to patients, as well as family members.

If you are elderly, they prefer you are quiet so they can just ignore you and treat you in a very mean and condescending manner! Where is the CEO? Please keep an eye on this floor! Check their inaccurate record keeping, attitudes towards patients, as well as family members...and you may want to review old tapes and see just how many spend hours on their iPhones looking at Facebook, Snap Chat, Tick Tock, etc!

Also, check to see how many hours the Nurses on FLOOR 6 , including Charge Nurses leave patients who do not have the strength to use the Call Button alone lying on their backs! We, as a community, need Nurses with compassion who went into the field to do service work and not just because school was free!

We just had the same experience and was treated like a pathetic idiot for wondering what is going on. 4 hrs and didn't hear anything.

We were lied to and was not allowed to talk to clinical director. Head nurse called my wife a liar when she was not around to defend herself no tests done and they made jokes that it was epidural abcess but turned out to be osteoarthritis of spine

No one gives a rat *** about you once you leave the surgery center!

You are on your own to figure out what valet parking did with your vehicle! Heaven help you if you didn't bring someone that can run all over the campus while someone can stay with the patient!

Totally irresponsible situation.

Disgusting dirty hospital. No patient care in so called recovery room after surgery.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dec 20, 2018 recovery room no more than giant dark, dirty storage room with 20+beds. No privacy men& women, visitors walking through.

No pain medication while patients wait for their rooms! off. Nurse in recovery refused to wipe my husbands dry white mouth, he kept trying to lick his lips while he moaned about how much pain he was in. Six hours later in his room I finally got a wet wash cloth for his mouth, he whispered thank you& finally got his pain med.

Room was filthy. Food on ceiling, walls&floor the whole 4 days my husband was there. Something black on his bed rail. I got wipes cleaned that.

His food table had dirty bed pad&used blanket on it. I took care of that&wiped that along with chair&night stand.

Worst Hospital in America BEWARE!!! Very dirty inside, the staff are not proficient that always take the incorrect vitals, There Neuro Office sucks since Dr.Synowicz has left, you will be waiting more than 2 hours and they will say im sorry and place you with any doctor who is free not the doctor you originally scheduled with I have actual video footage from my office visit with this particular practice how they are having a farewell party eating instead of tending to there patients will be available on you tube and Facebook

Going to Forbes Hospital will put your health at risk!

I suffered a left vertebral artery disection(VAD) which is a delamination of a segment of the artery wall. When this occurs blood pools within and restricts blood flow to the brain.

If the clot or a portion of clot breaks free and travels to the basilar artery the result is stroke with better than 85% resulting in death or sever disability including "Locked In Syndrome". When this event occured, my wife a Registed Nurse for 33 years wittnessed it and called 911. I was taken to Forbes Hospital Emergency Department at 6:59 on September 11th, 2018. The attending Physician (If that what they call him) was Dr.

Gregory Smith. Dr., Smith ordered every known illicit drug test, put me through a regime of "touch your nose, touch my finger", "what day is it", "where are you", "whats your name"...on and on. Dr. Smith did NOTHING..., not even an IV, no EKG for hours, yes hours.

My wife, the RN told Dr. Smith what she wittnessed and pleaded with this man for hours to order a CT or MRI to rule out a stroke...He refussed stating I am 100% certain that your husband (ME) did not and never had a stoke or TIA! He stated uneqivically ...he has a sinus infection, under stress and was about to send me home. My wife reiterated what she wittnessed and once again pleaded that he order a scan ....nothing doing.

This Dr., had the audcity to state with many wittnesses in the ER that I had all the symptoms of pregnancy and ordered the lights turned off in the ED room. Suddenly I could not hear or swallow the entire room was spinning, my face went numb. My wife screamed out ...my husband is having a stroke right in this ED room, get a real doctor in here now! She also demaned to speak with the hospials Administrator as we were both dumbfounded by the lack of care and incompetence!

Finally, a CT scan was ordered and the VAD was diagnosed. within 30 minutes a robotic TV was in my room and a Dr. Fishman at AGH (Allegheny General Hospital) was explaining the serious and as he stated FATAL medical emegency that I was currently faced with. He said I have good news and bad news, the good news is we are life flighting you to AGH the bad news is this is almost always fatal.

What the *** do you say to that....

When I arrived at AGH I was seen by one of the youngest, most talented neurosurgeons in Pittsburgh... Dr. Cerejo! Dr.

Cerejo, acted with caution, but lightning efficiency and most importantly respect for my wife and the uncertinity of my future. Dr.Cerejo, performed a very risky procedure called angioplasty and stenting within the disected artery and removed the clot that formed in my basilar artery. Needless to say, he saved my life and I have no real deficiencies and I am recovering well. It's strange to think that I have a wire mesh tube less than an inch from my brain.

This procedure is common in cardiac care but still experimental in crainal or extracranial arteries. Bottom line there is a vast difference in medical care and care givers including doctors. Forbes should not be permitted to advertise that they are a STROKE center...they are not! the ED care at Forbes is third world at best and I am here to warn you!

Think twice on where you choose to go in an emergcy and act as if your life depends on it.

Because it does! This is a ture story and I will testify to every word.

Worst ER experience ever!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Two days ago i had to have my daughter brought into the ER for a seizure she had. (She has a history of seizures and her new neurologist is through AGH).

The nurse that did her assessment never gave her the call bell. I found it wrapped around a piece of equipment on the back wall, no where near being within reach of her.

She was nauseated and never given zofran nor was she given an emisis bag. I had to search the room to find one for her.

Once her headache started (a 15 on a scale of 1-10) and we told the doctor, it took over an hour for her to be give simple motrin. Would you want to wait that long when it feels like a jack hammer going off in your brain!? The ER wasn't even that busy. There were 2-3 nurses sitting at the station at any given time.

When she was discharged they did not go over her discharge papers.

And lastly, my daughter's room was directly across from the nurse's station. My daughter and i had to listen to two nurses talking badly about the hospital I work at. VERY disrespectful and unprofessional. Once i made them aware that i worked there, they were more quiet.

I would have thought this hospital would have been much better than this.

During the past 2 days, i have also tried contacting several people to file a complaint, and everyone i actually speak with just passes the buck. I get told i need to talk to someone else and get sent to voice mail. I have left several messages and no one has returned my calls.

I also had a similar situation. I saw my doctor out in hallway going over my records with 2 residents.

Doc was stating how they hate patients who think they know more than doctors while doc and residents all laughed. Thought that was pretty rude. I never claimed to know more than a doctor. However, I guess I could say in a way I am more intelligent than a doc.

I would have kept my mouth shut and spoke in private to residents not in front of other patients nor relatives of a patient. My relative was sitting in a chair right behind them and heard them as well. Pretty darn stupid if you ask me. I am sure there are video cams in hallways.

Going to be pretty funny to see them try to deny this ever happened. Now if other patients heard this doctor talk the way they did.

The patient will now wonder "Well, if this doctor talks about their patient like this out in public , they will wonder what their doctor says about them.Never talk about your patients in the hallways of hospitals, it just makes you and other doctors including hospital in a bad way. So, Yes, even though I am just a measly nobody patient, i do consider myself to be more intelligent than a doctor in some respects.

MASS CONFUSION WITH ZERO COMMUNICATION

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If you ever need to take a relative or yourself here, please read. I have a video enclosed of those that actually know what is going on and communicating.

The doctors do not talk to the nurses and the testing department lacks any kind of scheduling practice. A test wanted on a Sunday was finally completed on a Thursday. They blamed the holiday weekend. What really happened is there was not a second person to accompany the first person to testing.

Then, the test required a contrast...by the time the test came around the contrast fluid needed repeated. I think I'd rather die than be in this hospital.

I can only hope my relative gets a new job where they offer UPMC. By the way, there is no video, since there was no one that had any idea what was going on.

Absolutely astounded and angry

I have been a patient for years, but what happened yesterday is inexcusable.

A dear friend's brother-in-law arrived in his wife's car for an cancer chemotherapy appointment. He is horribly weak, and when the car stopped, he ended up wedged between the front seat and dashboard.

In desperation, his wife virtually begged passersby's to help--to no avail.

After an hour and a half, a few security personnel, first told her they don't, 'go into the garage (!), but finally relented and lent a hand. Her husband was finally admitted, but the amount of time they had to wait for help is inexcusable! Also, being told that security don't 'go into the garage is lunacy. I don't care if the security team is contracted, it better be made clear that security does, indeed, patrol the garage areas. Plus, having a emergency phone available should be mandatory.

I was amazed to say the least.

Sincerely,

Robert S. Fenhagen

Next time light up a cigarette. Security will be there in an instant.

I know they patrol those parking garages. I've seen them look for cigarette smokers and go up to tell them no smoking.

I will never return to Allegheny General, Forbes campus.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I went in through trauma service. I have never seen or heard such a group of angry people.

When i was freezing cold, 2 nurses spoke sharply to me, telling me that the room was warm. The M.D. that did the initial work-up acted angry. Once it was determined that I was not in a crisis, I was completely ignored.

I was not even given a call bell. After over 2 hours of no communication, I took my pulse-ox off. The same M.D came in and threatened me. I had a ct scan and was returned to trauma.

They never contacted my husband, even though i asked them to and gave them the number. I was then taken to the icu without explanation. When i was up there, I requested my ct results. There appeared to be some confusion, but finally I was told that nearly all of my ribs were broken, some had multiple fractures.

The care in the icu was excellent, in my opinion, which, by the way, I am an R.N. I was not particularly impressed with the stepdown unit, however, there were 2 exceptional nurses there and one that never bothered to do any type of assessment. How does she chart? After a few days in stepdown, i was moved to the fifth floor and the real *** began.

During my time there, I was giving a clean gown and towels, tossed in the room once in 6 days. With my rib injury, i needed assistance with getting cleaned up, I requested daily, it never happened. I had to make 2 separate phone calls to the nursing supervisor. The first call was due to the fact that I had a nurse speak very inappropriately to me and then ignored my request for pain medication for an hour and a half.

I had a witness to both situations. The unit manager came up, gave me my medication and made her apologize to me. The second call to the nursing supervisor was due to the fact that again I was requesting pain medication and again was being ignored, this time was for over an hour and forty minutes. Different nurse.

Finally,a nurse came in-I'm fairly certain that she was the charge nurse, the same one that had been listening to my request for an hour and forty minutes but didn't pass the info to my nurse or, if my nurse was busy with one of her 5 other patients, won't get up and answer a call bell. As I have previously stated, I am a R.N., and believe me, I try to keep my requests to the absolute necessary, I know what it's like. But to keep a patient with multiple rib fractures waiting for over an hour for pain relief is inexcusable. There was always an excuse- usually they claimed that they were never informed.

The nursing care on the fifth floor was some of the worst that I have ever seen. No assessments, not one ever, no one listening to my lungs, ever, no assistance with getting up, even though I requested it because I was concerned about falling, no assistance from the pca's, I found out that they were charting that I was refusing to get cleaned up.

I have seen better nursing care in bad nursing homes. I have several other concerning issues and am considering filing a formal complaint.

Had to wait for pain meds too. Which in a way I can understand all this fear over ppl possibly getting addicted to oxys and possible future suits over potential addiction.

Then give me legal things instead. Alcohol.
